Workplace Campaigns
Thanks to the generosity of employees in the workplace, United Way is able to help thousands of people in need in our community.
Workplace campaigns are the foundation of United Way's fund development efforts and employees who serve as our Campaign Coordinators each year are key to our success. Coordinators assume leadership responsibility for the United Way Campaign in their respective companies and bring together the necessary resources to conduct a successful campaign.
United Way strives to provide workplace campaign coordinators with the tools and skills necessary to educate employees about United Way and offer those who wish to give the opportunity to do so. Our Coordinator Toolkit is an
A-Z guide for running a successful United Way Campaign in the workplace. Tools like our Agency Directory, campaign posters and videos help educate employees about United Way agency programs and services, and our campaign ideas help put fun and enthusiasm into workplace campaigns. Campaign incentives like our popular SmartCard, are a plus for coordinators who want to encourage increased participation and giving.
THE LOANED EXECUTIVE PROGRAM
Local Organizations Sponsor Campaign Assistance
Each year, during the most intensive weeks of the campaign, United Way supplements its staff to help conduct hundreds of workplace campaigns in our community. We call these individuals, "Loaned Executives," because they are either employees "loaned" to us from a local company, or a company may offer L.E. sponsorship funds.
During the 2007 United Way Campaign, the following organizations generously provided L.E. sponsorships: Northrop Grumman Newport News, Mary Immaculate Hospital, Ferguson Enterprises, Sentara Health System, Riverside Health System,
and Community Health Charities of Virginia.
If you are interested in becoming a Loaned Executive for the 2008 Campaign---or if your organization would consider sponsoring the program, please contact Teresa Crocker at 873-9328, Ext. 25.

We are grateful for the assistance provided by our 2007 Loaned Exectives (L-R):
Tim Lauth, Robyn Brownell, and Grace Rutledge.
